Progressive muscle relaxation is an active and uncomplicated relaxation technique for which you need nothing more than your body. In the online course, you'll learn in 8 modules of about 60 minutes each how to actively tense your muscles for physical and mental relaxation. You will also learn how PME supports you during acute stress situations as well as in your long-term recovery/relaxation. Here's what you can expect:
- The basic principles of PME according to Edmund Jacobson
- How to sensitize yourself to physical tension and relaxation
- The interaction between body and mind
- Which sources of relaxation support/assist you in everyday life
- How PME works while sitting, standing, and lying down
The course modules are accompanied by emails with supporting material, a PME guide, a quiz and additional information. After each fully completed module, you will receive an email with the materials and the link to the quiz. Please note that our prevention courses are only available in German.
The course lasts 8 weeks - each week a new module will be unlocked for you once you have fully completed the previous one.
Please look at the health requirements for participation in the prevention course.
The health requirements for the prevention course have been defined by the ZPP (Zentrale Prüfstelle für Prävention). The basic idea is that a prevention course should not be used to treat diseases/disorders, as it is a course designed to prevent certain diseases. The main purpose behind this is to rule out the possibility of someone trying to use the course to treat themselves without seeking professional help. If you are unsure about this, it is better to consult your doctor or therapist before meditating with 7Mind. Also, feel free to read our article on Can meditating with 7Mind help with psychological issues?.
